Suffolk-based St Peter's Brewery has signed a deal to supply beer to one of the country's best-known pie-makers.

The collaboration with Pukka Pies, which the brewery near Bungay says is 'lucrative', will see its 3.7% Best Bitter used in the snacks.

Pukka Pies produces more than 180,000 pies a day and its products are stocked in all the major supermarkets.

John Hadingham, managing director at St Peter's Brewery, said: 'This is an exciting new collaboration for us,' he said.

'Pukka Pies is a hugely popular and well-known brand so teaming up with them on their new and improved steak and ale pie is a fantastic opportunity and an excellent string to our bow.'

Mr Hadingham, formerly of Aspall Cyder, took over at St Peter's following the departure of former boss Steve Magnall last month, who presided over a turnaround and led the brewery back into the black.
