A large commercial arable farm in South Norfolk is expected to draw national interest from buyers after being put on the market with a guide price of £8.5m.
Barford Farm in Topcroft, described as a 'well-equipped and productive' farm by estate agents at Savills Norwich, extends to about 900 acres, of which 846 acres are in arable production.
The plot is being sold either as a whole or in six lots, and also includes a five-bedroom farmhouse and adjacent bungalow, 11 acres of permanent pasture, 23 acres of woodland and extensive farm buildings.
Tom Parish, of Savills Norwich, said: 'This is a significant sale. To put it into perspective, there is rarely more than one open market offering in excess of 750 acres in Norfolk in any one year and quite often none at all. We anticipate it will attract national and local interest from farmers as well as investment-driven buyers.'
The agents said the land is predominantly of the Beccles Series, characterised by loamy, sometimes chalky soils over till which is well suited to combinable cropping. The current rotation is based around cereals and oilseed rape with some beans, with scope to grow sugar beet.
