A family-owned aggregates business has been bought by a construction supplier.

Frimstone, which operates 10 sites across East Anglia, has been acquired by Huntingdon-based Mick George – which works in building services and skip hire across East Anglia and the East Midlands.

The Norfolk firm, which has its headquarters in Crimplesham near Downham Market, has more than 70 years' experience in mineral extraction, recycling and restoration projects.

Frimstone works with businesses, local authorities and the construction industry as well as members of the public. It has bases at Briston, Watlington, Snettisham, Worlington, Wisbech, Mepal, Waterbeach and Milton in Cambridgeshire.

Frimstone was advised on the deal by regional law firm Birketts. Corporate partner James Allen, who led the deal, said: 'We are delighted to have helped to deliver a successful outcome for the shareholders of Frimstone.'
