A major farm management software firm has opened a new office in Norfolk, which it says will boost product development and create job opportunities.

Farmplan, part of global agricultural data insights group Proagrica, employs more than 60 staff based in Herefordshire, West Sussex and Norfolk, and its products are used to manage more than 2.3m hectares of arable land and a million beef cattle.

The firm says its new office at Hall Farm Barn in Hethersett will offer a training and support hub for customers, and also become a base for the team developing Gatekeeper crop management software.

Managing director Piers Costley said: 'We have a huge customer base in this region and we're delighted to provide a hub for training, software development and support here at Hall Farm Barn.

'We are committed to developing our farm management solutions to support future farming. To reinforce this, our software development team are growing along with our product range. There is huge potential for job opportunities in this field.'
