A Drayton man who won nearly £16,000 on a FA Cup bet last year has used the winnings to set up his own personal training business.
Jordan Hipperson bet £1 on a five-game accumulator in the fourth round of the FA Cup and ended up scooping £15,830.
Other than a holiday with his girlfriend to Barcelona, the 22-year-old used all of his winnings to set up a personal training business in Norwich and a year on from his win, the business is nearly at full capacity.
'Now is the busiest time and I don't think I could fit many more people in and around the times I do,' he said. 'I do 20-30 hours of personal training a week as well as boot camps.'
The former Easton College student always wanted to start his own business and when he won the money he saw it as the perfect time to start his dream job.
'I just wanted to do it on my own and interpret my own idea of personal training,' he said. 'When I went self-employed I had literally just come back from a jaw operation so I knew the year would be really hard.
'I bought all the equipment and started up my boot camps which went really well and it all started then.'
Over the year he has had experience training elite efforts after providing sessions for Falkirk defender Peter Grant and Norwich City player Cameron Norman who is currently on loan at Woking.
Mr Hipperson splits his time between personal training sessions at The Gym in Norwich and running his boot camps session at the Bob Carter Centre in Drayton.
He used some of the money to advertise his business but found he got much more success from social media.
'I made leaflets but I didn't find that very helpful. I spent a lot of money on flyers but I didn't get one client from 1,000 of them,' he said.
'But you put a post on Facebook or Instagram and hundreds of people will see it and you get messages straight away.'
The life-long Chelsea fan bet against his team last year, something his dad was not too happy about, but admitted he has already done the same for their match against MK Dons on Sunday.
He said: 'I have got a six-team accumulator and have done all the big teams to lose and the odds came in at £59,670-1.
'The odds of that coming in are ridiculous, I have got more chance of being hit by a meteor I think.'
Mr Hipperson is currently studying for a qualification in nutrition so he can offer his clients meal plans and advice.
He has big plans for his business in the future but knows he needs to take things slowly.
'I want to get into doing boot camps for kids at schools as there is not really anyone on the market doing it and set up more boot camps in the Summer,' he said.
'But it is all about slowly progressing as I don't want to do everything at once.'
