Breckland Bridge Partnership, a collaboration between Breckland Council and private developer Land Group LLP, is set to continue into the 2020s.

The scheme first came about in 2015, with the intention of transforming land and property into homes and other facilities.

It saw the creation of the £8m Thetford Riverside leisure complex, which brought a new cinema, hotel, gym and restaurant to the town, while 24 new homes have been built in Mileham and Attleborough.

The partnership, which sees properties sold to provide revenue for council services, is scheduled to result in the construction of 135 more homes over the coming few years.

Paul Hewett, Breckland cabinet member for contracts and assets, said: “In the relatively short time it has been operating, the partnership has helped accelerate growth in the region, providing much-needed homes and a step-change in the financial contribution that our land and property makes to council services.”
