A village pub which closed seven years ago looks set to reopen.

A developer has applied to renovate the House on the Green at North Wootton, on the outskirts of King's Lynn.

It comes after five new houses on part of the site were given planning permission last year.

A client of Vertex Architecture has applied to add a ground floor extension to the pub, on Ling Common Road.

Plans submitted to West Norfolk council also show first floor bedrooms converted into seating areas.

The application says the proposals would create eight full and 12 part-time jobs.

It does not reveal when the pub might open or who it would be run by.

A statement attached to the successful application for five new homes said the House on the Green would be returned to being "an operational public house to serve the local and wider community".

A decision is expected later this year.
