The release date for a period drama filmed in Norfolk has been revealed.

Film crews for new series Mary and George were spotted shooting on Old Hunstanton beach in June. 

The drama stars Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore and is inspired by the story of George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham and reputed lover of King James I, and his mother Mary Villiers, Countess of Buckingham.

It has now been confirmed that all seven episodes of the series will be available to watch on Sky Atlantic and NOW on March 5.

Eyewitnesses also saw a 15ft boat, actors with swords and wooden chests holding treasure.
