What is Mary and George about?

The "dangerously daring historical psychodrama" follows the story of mother and son Mary and George Villiers.

George was aided by his mother to become the favourite of King James, who he met in 1614.

He became one of the most influential men in the country as the King's companion and advisor.

The extent to which the relationship between the men was sexual remains a subject of debate among historians.

George remained influential in the reign of James' son, Charles I, but became increasingly disliked.

Who is starring in it?

Mary Villiers, Countess of Buckingham, is being played by Oscar and Bafta-winning actor Julianne Moore.

Nicholas Galitzine, the star of Cinderella and Red, White & Royal Blue, plays George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham.

King James I is being played by Tony Curran, the star of Underworld: Evolution, Outlaw King and Mayflies.

Game of Thrones and Rings of Power actor Joseph Mawle was seen in Hunstanton shooting a scene where he walked out of the sea.

When will it be out?

It has now been confirmed that all seven episodes of the series will be available to watch on Sky Atlantic and NOW on March 5.
