The Opergy Group has been decorated for its innovative approach in stimulating net zero communities and supporting the UK’s transition to cleaner energy.

The UK has set ambitious net zero targets as the nation transitions to a greener, lower-carbon future. But in order to meet these targets, the energy industry needs forward-thinking businesses to develop strategies, technologies and communities with sustainability at their core.

The Opergy Group’s innovative solutions include a geospatial mapping tool, NZ-E-Map, used throughout its project and research work. The platform looks at infrastructure including gas, electricity, renewable energy assets, transport hubs, roads and carbon baselining data to identify novel opportunities to help stimulate community decarbonisation projects.

“We are also supporting the development of innovative startups, helping to bring new net zero technologies to market,” said Johnathan.

This includes Continuum, headquartered in Denmark with a UK development arm, which has one of the world’s first viable composite recycling technologies. It turns end-of-life wind turbine blades into new materials and products that can be used in a wide variety of applications in the built environment sectors, while solving a huge global composite waste challenge.
