Two brothers have been jailed after three "alcohol-fuelled" attacks which left their victims in hospital.

Riley Upton, 24, and Bricy Upton, 21, were at a children's play centre in Wisbech in October when they became aggressive and attacked members of the staff, leaving one with bruised ribs and gashes to the head.

Then in the early hours of November 4, the brothers were in Market Square when they approached and attacked a man unprovoked, kicking and punching him to the ground.

The victim suffered bruising all over his face, chipped teeth and had to have stitches to his eye socket.

The brothers then went to a petrol station in Lynn Road to buy alcohol with a group of men and assaulted one of them.

The victim was repeatedly punched, kicked and stamped on his head and body, suffering a fractured jaw and severe cuts and bruising.

Officers arrested both brothers the following day and charged them each with two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent, assault by beating and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Both men, of Sealey's Lane in Parson Drove, pleaded guilty and were sentenced at Peterborough Crown Court on Friday to six years in prison.

DS Lee Womack said: "These attacks were fuelled by a combination of alcohol and the brothers' seemingly blasé attitude to violence.

"I am pleased they will both be behind bars for a good stretch - Wisbech will be a safer place without them on the streets."
