A landlord has pulled his final pint at a much-loved seaside pub.

Graham Deans has been the landlord of The Lobster pub in Sheringham for more than two decades, but has now rang the bell for last orders for the final time.

Mr Deans took over the High Street pub in 2002 after moving to the north Norfolk town from Hertfordshire.

But his lease of The Lobster expired five years ago and despite continuing to run the pub until this month, he left after 22 years on Sunday, January 21.

The pub is owned by the Stonegate Group - the largest pub company in the UK with more than 4,500 sites.

The group also owns the Sheringham pubs The Crown, in Lifeboat Plain, and The Robin Hood, in Station Road.

Chris Taylor, who captured the moment Mr Deans rang the bell behind the bar for the last time, said it is "the end of an era".

"Thank you Graham for all the great nights at The Lobster over the last 22 years," Mr Taylor, a lifeboat helmsman at RNLI Sheringham, said in a Facebook post.

"It’s been amazing. Thank you for all you have done for this town, Graham."

During his time as landlord at The Lobster, Mr Deans has been the events manager of the Sheringham Carnival, holding the Classic Car Show as part of the event.

He has organised the annual Harley Davidson rally from Sheringham to Fakenham, and has always been involved in the town's 1940s weekend and Cromer and Sheringham Crab and Lobster Festival.

The Lobster pub is just a stone's throw away from the promenade and beach.

Mr Deans did not wish to comment, but thanked everyone who visited the pub during his 22 years as landlord.

Stonegate Group was also approached for comment.
