A new group has formed at a Norfolk council following a fractious few weeks of resignations.
Alexandra Kemp, who split from the ruling Independent coalition this month has joined forces with another councillor to form the 'Progressives'.
This new party, which also includes Colin Rose, of Upwell and Delph Ward, has promised to "breathe fresh air" into the local authority, which has become known as Norfolk's 'most cantankerous' following recent disputes.
Ms Kemp formed the new group after becoming disillusioned with the direction of the Independent coalition and it also comes after her quitting her cabinet position in July last year.
This followed her frustrations with the handling of the West Winch 4,000 home development amid fears houses will be built before new infrastructure - including a £84m bypass linking the A10 and A47 - has secured the necessary funding.
Ms Kemp said: "The Independent administration should be bold and stand up to the current groupthink that puts development first, and residents last.
"It needs to listen more, think of the consequences of its decisions and follow common sense.
"The new Progressive Group will work across the council, to put residents first."
