A GP surgery named by its patients as the happiest in Norwich' has earned glowing praise in its latest CQC inspection.

Magdalen Medical Practice in Lawson Road received the highest satisfaction rating in the city during the annual NHS patient survey earlier this year.

And now this success has also been recognised by the Care Quality Commission in its latest inspection.

Inspectors visited the practice on November 29 - its first assessment since April 2016.

The surgery has been rated as good overall by the care regulator - the second highest rating available - and as outstanding for how responsive it is.

The report reads: "Patients could access care and treatment in a timely way.

"The practice had a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

"Patients received effective care and treatment that met their needs - staff dealt with patients with kindness and respect and involved them in decisions about their care."

Tracey Clarke, practice manager at Magdalen Medical Practice, said: "A lot of hard work has gone into achieving this result - everybody here is delighted."
