A village pub has closed its doors after the former landladies said it didn’t have “the same community feel".

The Ram Inn in The Street in Brundall closed on Wednesday and the Stonegate Group which owns the pub is now looking for someone to take it on.

It had been run by Caroline and Megan since July but they have decided to move on after a “crazy few months”.

They said: “We’ve had plenty of highs and lows but the lows seem to be taking over now.

"We took over the pub back in July this year to try and restore its good name.

“The pub hasn’t got the same community feel and we feel that it will take more than us to restore it to the pub you all once knew.”

The pair tried acting on locals' feedback including opening the kitchen and hosting regular charity events.

They added: “Pubs every day are fighting and struggling to stay open to the point it costs you your physical and mental health.

"Use it or lose it - your local pubs need you.”
