1. Junkyard Food Festival

When: October 6-8, 12noon-10pm 

Where: Earlham Park, Norwich, NR4 7TQ

The organisers of Junkyard Market outside St Mary's Works are holding their first festival this autumn, with a mix of local and national street food vendors.

There will also be DJs, live music, comedy shows, tasting sessions and children's activities.

2. Aylsham Food Festival

When: October 6-8, various events across the weekend

Where: Market Place, Aylsham, NR11 6EH

Support local as this three-day food festival returns with a jam-packed calendar of events, ranging from a food and craft market to wine tasting with cheese. 

It is organised by the not-for-profit group Slow Food Aylsham in collaboration with Cittaslow Aylsham.

3. Shine Night Walk

When: October 7, From 7.30pm

Where: Start in Chapelfield Gardens, Norwich, NR2 1SF

Price: Adults (18+): £17.49, children (11-17): £14.99, fundraising encouraged

Let it shine in October as this illuminated walk returns to the city to raise money for Cancer Research UK. 

Participants are encouraged to light themselves up with flashing and glow-in-the-dark accessories and the 10k route passes many city landmarks and it ends at The Halls.

4. PrimEvil

When: October 13-November 4, 6pm-11pm (last entry 9pm) 

Where: ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure, Lenwade, NR9 5JE

Price: £35 (ages 12+), 15pc off for students and annual pass holders, booking essential at primevil-scare.com

This award-winning scare attraction is back with returning haunts The Crypt, Circus of Terror, Route 666 and Mayhem Manor, but they will feature all-new styling and character actors. 

New for 2023, horror maze Werehouse 51: Toxic Mutation is one for only the bravest thrill-seekers.

5. Norwich Beer Festival

When: October 23-28, various sessions 

Where: The Halls, St Andrew's Plain, Norwich, NR3 1AU

Price: Various beer cards available from £10, book online at tckty.camra.org.uk or at the door, free entry for CAMRA members 

The 45th Norwich Beer Festival, organised by the Norwich & District Branch of CAMRA, will feature more than 300 cask-conditioned real ales from Britain's independent brewers.

You can also expect draught and bottled beers from around the world and a large range of traditional ciders and perries, with more than 60 varieties mainly from East Anglia.

6. Halloween Outdoor Cinema

When: October 24-26 

Where: Holkham Hall, Holkham Road, Wells-next-the-Sea, NR23 1RR

The touring Adventure Cinema is returning to the Holkham Estate over three consecutive days with Ghostbusters, Hocus Pocus and then The Lost Boys. 

Picnics and drinks are welcome at the event, with no glass allowed, and there will be an on-site bar and hot food and snacks available to buy too.

7. The Full Monty

Expect plenty of cheek when Simon Beaufoy’s hit comedy play The Full Monty heads to Norwich Theatre Royal on its UK tour this autumn.

The show, based on the 1997 film of the same name, stars Danny Hatchard as Gaz, Jake Quickenden as Guy, Bill Ward as Gerald, Neil Hurst as Dave, Ben Onwukwe as Horse and Nicholas Prasad as Lomper.
