Torrential rain is to fall across much of the county as thunderstorms hit the region.

A Met Office yellow weather warning has been extended until 6pm today (June 20).

The thunderstorms could cause sudden flooding and lightning strikes to damage buildings.

There could also be disruption to travel due to the conditions.

Forecasters predict some parts of Norfolk could see more than 30mm of rain fall in less than an hour.

The yellow weather warning extends up to Aylsham in north Norfolk and covers areas including Thetford, Watton, Diss and Norwich.

The storms will hit western areas first at about 9am before travelling north across the region.

It follows Sunday's thunderstorms which caused flash flooding in King's Lynn and Hunstanton.
