The wreckage of a car was stolen after a teenager crashed down a country lane near Diss. 

Bradley Thrower, 18, from Diss, was driving down Thetford Road in Gasthorpe when his car overturned, rolling across the road and landing at the side of the A1066.

Police were called to the incident at 9.52pm on Tuesday, May 9 after the single-vehicle collision was reported. 

Mr Thrower sustained minor injuries after the crash and was checked over in the hospital.

In a strange turn of events, the car wreckage was stolen from the side of the A1066 on Wednesday, May 10.

After following reports that the car had been dumped in a field near the crash site, the red Ford Fiesta was found the next day (May 11).

Officers have now opened an investigation of theft and anyone with information should contact PC Ryan Smith on 101 quoting 36/33809/23.
