A man has paid tribute to his grandmother who died after she was involved in a crash just minutes from her Norfolk Airbnb.
Pauline Ward, 74 and from Eye in Suffolk, died following a crash in Beccles Road in Belton, near Great Yarmouth.
She was on her way to an Airbnb for a weekend away with her partner Richard when the crash happened.
Her grandson Jake Prudhomme-Nash said: "It's so shocking. She was so excited to go away. They were five minutes from the Airbnb when the accident happened.
"You hear about those sorts of tragedies happening but you never imagine it being your family.
He described his grandmother as "such a character".
"Nan always had a beaming smile on her face. I think that's what people will remember about her, that and her infectious laugh," he said.
"She loved dancing, especially rock'n'roll. She went to events and would get all dressed up.
"And she loved the paranormal. We would go to haunted pubs and the servers would sit us at the most 'active' table.
"My friends were always embarrassed of their grandparents but I loved spending time with her so much.
"Growing up we did everything together. I'd wind her up, taking pictures and videos of her with silly filters.
"There are too many memories to pick just one."
She was born in June 1948 in East London and lived briefly at RAF Coningsby with her family before returning to Stepney.
She went on to have two daughters and a son, nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, one great-granddaughter with another great-grandchild due at the end of the year.
Pauline moved to Eye about five years ago to be closer to her daughters and "really took to country life" and fell in love with the East Anglian countryside and soon became a pillar of the community.
"She held charity nights and was always out and about - she was really one for the community," said Mr Prudhomme-Nash.
"Nan would visit elderly people living nearby so they would have someone to talk to.
"I think people were drawn to her, she just loved company.
"Her door was always open to people and there were always people round. She'd do anything for anyone."
The crash happened at 2.14pm on May 5 in Beccles Road in Belton.
Three others who were in the same car as her, including her partner Richard, were taken to hospital with serious injuries following the crash.
Two remained in hospital on May 10, one with potentially life-changing injuries, and the third has been discharged after receiving treatment.
Two people who were travelling in the Mercedes were also taken to hospital with serious injuries.
One remains in hospital and the other has been discharged after receiving treatment.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the driving of either vehicle prior to collision, and from anyone who may have dashcam footage relevant to this incident.
