High speeding motorists caught doing over 100mph on Norfolk’s roads have escaped losing their driving licences.

The drivers, which included one clocked doing 109mph in a Porsche supercar and another doing 108mph in a BMW, were facing bans from being behind the wheel due to their excessively high speeds.

Those found to be doing over 101mph face a court summons and can be disqualified from driving for between seven and 56 days or receive six points.

Among those summoned to Norwich Magistrates Court was Justin Lord, 43, of Broadland Drive in Thorpe End, who was caught by a handheld speed check on the Northern Distributor Road doing 109mph in a blue Porsche Carrera.

Magistrates handed him six points, fined him £666 and ordered that he pay costs and victim surcharge totalling £356 after he admitted driving at the excessive speed on August 8 last year.
