Six speeding motorists and bikers have appeared in court after being caught doing over 100mph on Norfolk’s roads.

The drivers, which included one clocked doing 130mph in a Ferrari supercar and another doing 128mph in a BMW, were facing bans from being behind the wheel due to their excessively high speeds.

Those found to be doing over 101mph face a court summons and can be disqualified from driving for between seven and 56 days or receive six points.

Among those to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court was Timothy Hay, 59, of Newmarket Road in Cringleford, who was clocked doing 130mph in a £200,000 Ferrari on the A47 southern bypass on July 9 last year.

Magistrates banned him from driving for 56 days and ordered that he pay £776 in fines and costs.

Magistrates decided against banning him, instead imposing six penalty points and fines and costs totalling £652.

Speeding on the A47 also saw BMW driver Shaun Bond, 37, from Chettisham near Ely, appear in court after a handheld camera check at King’s Lynn found he was doing 128mph on July 23.

He was also banned from being behind the wheel for 56 days and was fined £553 and told to pay £110 costs.

Artur Zajanckovski, 25, of Jasmin Close in Wisbech, was recorded on July 10 doing 94mph in a Volkswagen Golf on the A47 at Wisbech.

He was given four points on his licence and told to pay £482 in fines and court costs.
