Fresh from earning its first AA rosette for culinary excellence, a west Norfolk pub has now been named the best place for a Sunday roast in the county.

The Angel at Watlington, near King's Lynn, was taken on by couple Emily Phipps and chef Richard Crouch in 2018 and the pair gave the building a huge refurbishment.

It has proved very popular with its focus on top-quality seasonal produce and it is also in the finals in the pub or restaurant category at the Eat Game Awards 2023, with the winner to be announced in March.

Ms Phipps said: "We are thrilled to win the award -we use the best local butchers for our meat and always offer a variety of dishes.

"We serve all our meals with family service vegetables so that people can add them on themselves."
