Norfolk snack giant Kettle Foods has shown its faith in a local bakery with a £1,000 mentoring scheme donation.
Pye Baker in Norwich, which makes breads, cakes and pastries, received the cheque as part of a mentoring prize it won at the North Norfolk Food and Drink Festival, which is sponsored by EDP Top 100 company Kettle.
Founder John Watt opened the bakery after moving from London to Norwich 10 years ago. He has since opened a café and shop, and recently moved the bakery to bigger premises to allow for expansion.
Festival judges believed Pye Baker could benefit strongly from mentoring support.
Kettle Foods managing director Ashley Hicks said: 'We're pleased to support another local producer who shares our passion for quality food ingredients and traditional cooking methods.'
Mr Watt, better known as 'Grimsby', said: 'I'm very much look forward to the mentoring and advice Ashley and his team can offer me.'
