Norwich City have added two friendly matches in Germany to their pre-season fixtures.

Matches against MSV Duisburg and Arminia Bielefeld, who will both play in Bundesliga II next season, the German second tier, will be part of a week-long tour.

Starting on Sunday, July 16, the tour will also feature two games for City’s under-23 squad, against teams who play in the fourth tier in Germany, where new Canaries head coach Daniel Farke had been in charge of Borussia Dortmund U23s last season.

City will face Duisburg at Willi-Hafer Stadium in Hilbeck – a small village in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, east of Dortmund – on Wednesday, July 19 (kick-off 6pm) and Arminia Bielefeld at Schuco-Arena – a stadium with a capacity of over 26,000 – on Friday, July 21 (6pm KO).

Duisburg won the Bundesliga III title last season to be promoted to Bundesliga II, in which Bielefeld finished 15th.

The U23s Meanwhile, take on SC Rot-Weiß Oberhausen at Stadium Niederrhein on Wednesday, July 19 (12.30pm) and Eintracht Braunschweig U23 at Hotel Klosterpforte on Friday, July 21 (12pm).

Oberhausen finished fourth in Regionalliga West during 2016-17, four points adrift of Farke’s Dortmund U23 side who finished second and with the best defensive record in the league. Braunschweig’s U23s finished 12th in the 18-team Regionalliga North.

The Canaries started pre-season training at Colney on Monday ahead of a five-day camp in Ireland starting on Monday, featuring a friendly against Cobh Ramblers on Wednesday, July 5.
