Staff at a Swaffham care home have been given their second bonus in a year after it hit full occupancy.

The team at Iceni House Care Home were given their first bonus following an unannounced inspection by the Care Quality Commission, when the home was rated good in all areas.

The home has expanded its capacity to 75 residents, and has now filled every bed.

Manager Helen O’Brien said: “The care industry is notorious for high staff turnover. By rewarding our carers when they’ve performed well, we’re aiming to build a strong team of staff who are here to look after our residents for the long term.”

Kelly Allars, a care worker at the home, said she was thrilled at the bonus, adding: “It’s rewarding work and I feel like I’m making a real difference to people’s lives. It’s great when the hard work we all put in is appreciated in this way.”
