The New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership is holding its iExpo event at Centrum, on the Norwich Research Park, to underscore the value of start-ups, creative products and inventions bringing economic growth to the region.

Held on Tuesday, October 20, the event will provide exhibitions and masterclasses, delivered by experts in their field. Visitors can attend the showcase for free.

Mark Pendlington, chairman of New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership, said: 'There are some amazing developments happening right here in Norfolk and Suffolk, from global technical innovations at Adastral Park in Martlesham to one of Europe's biggest concentrations of food and plant scientists at Norwich Research Park, the venue for this year's iExpo.

'This is a chance to showcase the ideas that inspire and the products and inventions of the future. And what better partners for iExpo than our leading universities and colleges who are working hand in hand with the LEP to boost the region's skills and create the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders.'

The UK's innovation agency, Innovate UK – formerly the Technology Strategy Board – will lead a masterclass on how they work with businesses to accelerate business growth.

Nigel Walker, head of access to finance from Innovate UK, said: 'Innovation is key to sustainable economic growth. Innovate UK funds, supports and connects innovative businesses through an exciting range of programmes and opportunities.

'We're delighted to be part of iExpo 2015, look forward to meeting with some of the leading-edge businesses in the region and demonstrate how we can help business growth.'

iExpo 2015 aims to build on its event last year held at BT's global R&D headquarters at Adastral Park, where 40 exhibitors gave an insight into the diverse array of innovative products being produced in the region. They included: haptic technology, biometric devices and greenhouse sky scrapers.

The event attracted more than 500 business leaders, academics, innovators, entrepreneurs and students.
