The investment in coastal communities which has come with the rise of East Anglia's offshore energy sector has provided training opportunities for local residents.
Father-of-two Michael Montgomery was offered a job as an offshore wind turbine inspection technician with 3sun Group just days after completing a course at the East of England Offshore Wind Skills Centre in Great Yarmouth.
He was one of the first cohort to complete the centre's three-week transition course.
Mr Montgomery, 39, trained as an engineer 20 years ago and diverted to roles in technical field sales and business development before returning to engineering.
He said: "My last eight years have been spent in the maritime industry attending vessels, checking data and systems so I have technical experience offshore but the course set up to find people to work on the future projects has taken me where I want and need to be."
