Transport associate professionals have topped a pay league for full time average salaries in the East of England.
Analysis of national figures by the GMB union shows the role – for example aircrew at Stansted Airport or marine staff at Felixstowe or Harwich ports – yielded an average salary of £83,795 as of April 2017.
Hairdressers and other related services came bottom of the league of 87 occupations, earning an average of £13,370 a year.
Other high-earning roles in the region include research and development managers on £66,895, health professionals on £64,198, production managers and directors on £57,734, legal professionals on £54,346, and IT and telecommunications professionals on £47,694.
Among the lowest paid positions are childcare and related personal services on £16,036, elementary cleaning occupations on £16,527, sales assistants and retail cashiers on £18,149, and housekeeping and related services on £18,780.
