Boat owners are urged to be vigilant and step up security after a spate of break-ins on the Broads.

Thieves targered several boats at Sutton and Hickling staithes on Monday night/Tuesday morning. No damage was caused, but the culrpts did search inside the boats and stole fuel.

Officers from Norfolk Constabulary's Broads Beat team are now urging boaters to take necessary precautions to protect their property – removing any valuables including fuel containers.

Owners are also encouraged to property mark items which are left on board, making them less attractive to thieves.
