A night of big band sounds at the Marina Theatre on Sunday will be paying tribute to a Lowestoft man who became known and respected across Waveney for his passion for music and entertainment.
On Sunday at 7.30pm, The Jonathan Wyatt Big Band and The Jeff Hooper Big Band will be performing in memory of David Gwyn, the former general manager at Pontins Holiday Centre in Pakefield, who died earlier this year aged 77 after a long battle with illness.
The last 20 years of Mr Gwyn's working life was spent as general manager at the holiday camp, where the big band breaks he organised brought people to town in their thousands.
The Herb Miller Orchestra, Joe Loss Orchestra and Glen Miller UK Orchestra were among the many top performers with which Mr Gwyn was
associated with.
A spokesman for the Marina said: 'David, who sadly passed away earlier this year, was a champion of big band entertainment having brought many of the world's top performers to the area.'
All profits from Sunday's big band night concert will go to Mr Gwyn's favourite charity, the RNLI, and the night will be hosted by his long-time friend and former Pontin's entertainment manager, Graham Henry.
Tonight at 7.30pm, the Marina's big screen will show a recording of Richard Eyre's adaptation of Ghosts by Henrik Ibsen from London's West End.
Tomorrow from 7.30pm, people will be Jive Talkin' during a tribute to the Bee Gees.
The Nights on Broadway show will feature the Gibb brothers' long list of hit songs from the 60s to the 90s. The Bee Gees were formed in 1958 and the group's line-up consisted of brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb, who recorded a string of hits, such as Words and You Win Again.
Film lovers can also enjoy the chance to catch two movies at the Marina next week.
On Monday and Tuesday at 2.30pm and 7.30pm, Two Faces of January, a thriller set in Greece and Istanbul, and adapted from Patricia Highsmith's novel, will be shown.
On Wednesday and Thursday at 2.30pm and 7.30pm, Jimmy's Hall will be shown. Set in 1921, the film is about a man's dream to build a dance hall on rural crossroads in Ireland.
