The Eastern Daily Press have teamed up with the Forestry Commission to offer one lucky winner a pair of tickets to see rock 'n' roll legends Status Quo at Thetford Forest on Thursday June 9.

One of Britain's best loved bands has announced an East Anglian date for the summer. The legendary Status Quo will be appearing in Thetford Forest as part of Forestry Commission Live Music. Recognised each year by the Performing Rights Society as one of the hardest working acts on tour, the Thetford show will be their only date in the region in 2011.

Status Quo have become a rock 'n' roll institution. A prolific touring and recording act, they have accumulated total world-wide record sales exceeding 118 million units, with 29 of their 39 album releases making the UK Top 20. Classic hits such as Caroline, Down Down, Rockin' All Over The World, Whatever You Want, Marguerita Time and In The Army Now contribute to a total presence of over seven and a half years on the British singles chart.

Status Quo duo Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt have also been awarded OBEs for services to music and for charitable work. This is complemented by a cabinet full of music industry accolades including: the coveted Silver Clef Award, presented annually by the Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Trust for Outstanding Services to British Music; Best Festival Feel Good Act from the UK Festival Awards; a Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Music Industry.

Forestry Commission Live Music encourages people to see their local forests in a new way and return again to explore the beautiful woodland environment and the recreational and leisure opportunities on offer.

For Status Quo, Francis Rossi said: 'Forestry Commission Live Music is a fantastic annual event that has become a statutory part of the UK's live music calendar. We love to bag a trip to the woods each year. We are pleased to make Thetford part of our touring plans for 2011 particularly as we had a great gig performing to a capacity crowd last time we were there.'

The Quo will be performing on Thursday June 9 at Thetford Forest. Tickets are 34.00 each (subject to booking fee) from the Forestry Commission box office on 03000 680400, and online at www.forestry.gov.uk/music
