Wells wins grant for HD films
Film lovers in Wells will be able to watch high-definition movies at their community cinema with the help of a �6,000 National Lottery grant.The 70-seat Screen-next-the-Sea cinema based at the Granary Theatre was awarded the money from the Awards for All scheme.

The 70-seat Screen-next-the-Sea cinema based at the Granary Theatre was awarded the money from the Awards for All scheme.
It will be spent on a high definition projector to increase the viewing quality of the films, currently shown once a month.
Gresh Blayer, one of the cinema's technical crew, said he hoped the new equipment could be installed in time for the April 14 singalong showing of the Abba musical, Mamma Mia.
'The films look good at the moment but when we get HD it will be mind-blowing, like a real cinema," he said.
'At the moment we hire equipment form Creative Arts East, but once we get all our own equipment we can show films more regularly. It is early days yet but we have got a great fan base.'
