Girls interested in becoming this year's Wells Carnival Queen and her attendants are invited to a free disco evening tomorrow night at the Golden Fleece pub on the town's quayside.
The lucky girl selected, who must be aged 16 or over, will win the title and £120 dress allowance, champagne and flowers.
One of the main duties of the Carnival Queen will be to take a leading part on Carnival Day in August and ride in the procession of decorated floats.
The Carnival Queen is this year again being sponsored by Wells Lifeboat crew and coxswain Allan Frary said they are very happy to see the tradition being kept alive.
