Music lovers can look forward to a couple of treats this spring, with two of the country's leading chamber orchestras heading to north Norfolk.

The London Mozart Players and the City of London Sinfonia will perform in two churches over the coming months, with works from the likes of JS Bach, Mendelssohn and Mozart on the programmes.

St Peter's, Sheringham, will be the venue for the London Mozart Players on Friday, March 9.

The evening will include Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in D minor along with works by Mozart, Shostakovich and Moore. The violin soloist will be Savitri Grier.

Tickets are £15, and children aged 16 and under can attend for free.

To book, visit the Sheringham Little Theatre booking office, visit www.sheringhamlittletheatre.com or call 01263 822347.

On Saturday, April 21, the City of London Sinfonia will be playing at St Catherine's, Ludham.

Bach's Double Violin Concerto will be one of the highlights, alongside compositions by Tabakova, Purcell, Pärt and Mozart.

Tickets for this concert, which is being promoted by the Ludham Festival, are available from Ludham Butchers or by calling 01692 678060. They cost £12 in advance (£15 on the door) and, again, children aged 16 and under can attend for free.

Councillor Maggie Prior, NNDC Portfolio Holder for Culture, said: 'These concerts are sure to give music lovers in North Norfolk a treat, with two brilliant orchestras performing in two great settings.

'We are pleased to be supporting these events, including by helping to keep ticket prices down, and concert-goers can expect to enjoy some wonderful performances.'
