One of the major stories of the 20th century is about to make a big splash in Norwich as the Theatre Royal stages Titanic the Musical sailing from Monday January 28 to Saturday February 2 in a lavish production by the Norfolk and Norwich Operatic Society. Performances are nightly at 7.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.

It tells the heartfelt and moving story of RMS Titanic - the pride of the White Star Line - and the tragedy that became it on the night of April 14 1912 when it collided with an iceberg, going down only four days after sailing out from Southampton en route to New York on its maiden voyage.

When the show was first staged on Broadway in 1997 it won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Titanic is the latest in a series of shows staged by the Norfolk and Norwich Operatic Society and past sell-outs have included 42nd Street, Oklahoma! and Jesus Christ Superstar.
