How do they do it? For two hours – without an interval – Karl Minns and Owen Evans run riot through the fine city's people and places, poking fun wherever they can.

All their pet subjects are there – the city's poor parking, the need to find a snappy slogan for Norwich, the future of the market, footballing success and more.

And many characters are back, including Poet Laureate Andrew Motion, She Go, a lively Norwich lady, plus the blundering city councillors who come up with ridiculous scheme after ridiculous scheme. True to life, indeed.

They have moved on from Look's East legendary presenter Stewart White (who usually appears) to pick on weather girl Julie Reinger (Norfolk's Audrey Hepburn) who definitely shouldn't take her mum to the show – there's a very rude sketch about her!

For me, they saved themselves from appearing smug by having a go at Waitrose-loving, Barbour wearers from Newmarket Road – the typical type to come and see their show.

As usual, a superbly delivered show that is now as much a part of Christmas as mince pies and mulled wine for all middle class Cringleford fans. Long may they continue – and there is talk of another show in the New Year so watch this space.

t The show runs daily except December 12 until December 22.
