ISABEL COCKAYNE
The Stockport brass band ripped through a moving and entertaining set starting with John Williams' most moving movie music – the theme to ET and Schindler's List.
There was also a touch of magic with his Hedwig's Theme from Harry Potter, and Richard Rogers' liquid sounds from the South Pacific and the sassy Slaughter on 10th Avenue.

The Fairey Band's musical director, Allan Withington, conducted with energy, bringing the polished set to thrilling conclusions, performing behind the huge trophy for the Champion Band of Great Britain, in St Edmundsbury Cathedral.
t The Fairey Band performed as part of the Bury St Edmunds Festival.
