Looking for a cycling challenge to take on? Here's a look at some of the events taking place in Norfolk over the next few months.

Pedal Norfolk, 30 April – 2 May, Holkham Hall, £6.50 - £37.50

Pedal Norfolk will be taking over Holkham Hall for the fourth year. Cyclists can choose from routes of 20, 50 or 100 miles. There will also be a range of food and drink on offer throughout the days as well as live music and entertainment in the evenings.

The Boudicca Sportive, 22 May, Snetterton, £15 - £21

Based in mid Norfolk, the Boudicca sportive offers participants three different routes to choose from, 40 miles, 70 miles or 100 miles. These routes spread out from Snetterton and head into The Brecks and North Norfolk. Entry to the event includes route GPS files, mobile mechanical service and recovery, first aid coverage, free food and energy drinks, free photo downloads and event memorabilia.

Norwich 100, 5 June, The Forum, Norwich, £20

Looking to get your first 100-mile ride under your belt? Then the Norwich 100 might be the perfect event for you. Starting and finishing in the fine city, this challenging ride takes cyclists through idyllic country roads and villages including Reepham, Holkham and Mundesley. The middle section along the coast from Wells to Walcott dispels the myth of flat Norfolk. For those not keen on taking on this mean feat, 25 and 50 mile routes are also available.

Diss Cyclathon, 19 June, Diss, £15 - £25

Diss Cyclathon celebrates all that is great about cycling in Norfolk and Suffolk. Beginning in Diss, cyclists can take one of three routes around the surrounding areas travelling either 25 miles to Harleston and back, 50 miles through Harleston, Long Stratton, Wymondham and Attleborough or 100 miles through nine different towns. Diss CTC will also be running a 'Come Try Cycling' event between 10am and 12pm offering people the chance to try a much shorter route and discover the fun of local cycling.

Norfolk Sportive, 24 July, Little Melton, £14 - £22

Now in its third year, the Norfolk Sportive returns to South Norfolk, departing from Crusaders Rugby Club in Little Melton and travelling around the surrounding picturesque country lanes. Cyclists can tackle either a 25 mile route, a 50 mile route or take on a challenging 100 miles.

Tour De Broads, 21 August, Broads National Park, £2.50 - £22.50

A festival venue, 3,000 riders taking part, 16 broads to see and four rivers to pass, the Richardsons' Tour de Broads has an updated route for 2016 allowing riders to see more Broads and more villages this year. Sign up for either a 40, 75 or 100 mile route, or simply take your family out for a one hour, traffic-free Broads ride and experience the excitement of the event, without all the hard work.

NNUH Tour Sportive, 11 September, Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital, £15 - £25

Cyclists taking part in this charity bike ride will not only be directly supporting the NNUH, but will also have the opportunity to follow the southern section of the 2015 Tour of Britain stage through Norfolk. The event will consist of three circular routes of either 30, 60 or 100 miles around south Norfolk and Breckland, all starting a finishing at the event HQ at NNUH.

Parsons Peddler Sportive, 18 September, Weston Longville, £8 - £12

Join the Wensum Valley Cycling Group for the Parsons Peddler Sportive, a whole day of cycling fun. Participants can take on a 40 mile or 80 mile route around Norfolk at a cost of £8 for the 40 mile route and £12 for the 80. Alternatively a free five-mile route around Weston Longville has also been planned. Event host Parson Woodforde will be providing a tasty BBQ as well as beers, wines and soft drinks throughout the day.

Bullards Tour de Norfolk, 25 September, Norfolk Showground, £10 – £25

The first ever Tour de Norfolk will be taking place towards the end of the year to raise awareness for Norfolk based charity the Big C. Cyclists taking part in the event will be able to select a route based on their ability and challenge themselves by completing different stages as they tour the countryside of south Norfolk, starting and finishing at the Norfolk Showground.

Wiggle Royal Flyer Sportive, 30 October, Fakenham, £35

One of the last cycling events before winter well and truly takes hold and the days begin to get shorter and darker, the Wiggle Royal Flyer in Fakenham takes in the beautiful Royal Sandringham Estate and the areas around it, including villages such as Guist and Hindringam. With only two route options - 46 miles or 71, the event will prove a challenge to novice cyclists but allow more seasoned riders to try and beat their best sportive time of the season.
