Norwich 100, 5 June, The Forum, Norwich, £20

Looking to get your first 100-mile ride under your belt? Then the Norwich 100 might be the perfect event for you. Starting and finishing in the fine city, this challenging ride takes cyclists through idyllic country roads and villages including Reepham, Holkham and Mundesley. The middle section along the coast from Wells to Walcott dispels the myth of flat Norfolk. For those not keen on taking on this mean feat, 25 and 50 mile routes are also available.

Diss Cyclathon, 19 June, Diss, £15 - £25

Diss Cyclathon celebrates all that is great about cycling in Norfolk and Suffolk. Beginning in Diss, cyclists can take one of three routes around the surrounding areas travelling either 25 miles to Harleston and back, 50 miles through Harleston, Long Stratton, Wymondham and Attleborough or 100 miles through nine different towns. Diss CTC will also be running a 'Come Try Cycling' event between 10am and 12pm offering people the chance to try a much shorter route and discover the fun of local cycling.

Norfolk Sportive, 24 July, Little Melton, £14 - £22

Now in its third year, the Norfolk Sportive returns to South Norfolk, departing from Crusaders Rugby Club in Little Melton and travelling around the surrounding picturesque country lanes. Cyclists can tackle either a 25 mile route, a 50 mile route or take on a challenging 100 miles.

Tour De Broads, 21 August, Broads National Park, £2.50 - £22.50

A festival venue, 3,000 riders taking part, 16 broads to see and four rivers to pass, the Richardsons' Tour de Broads has an updated route for 2016 allowing riders to see more Broads and more villages this year. Sign up for either a 40, 75 or 100 mile route, or simply take your family out for a one hour, traffic-free Broads ride and experience the excitement of the event, without all the hard work.

Wiggle Royal Flyer Sportive, 30 October, Fakenham, £35

One of the last cycling events before winter well and truly takes hold and the days begin to get shorter and darker, the Wiggle Royal Flyer in Fakenham takes in the beautiful Royal Sandringham Estate and the areas around it, including villages such as Guist and Hindringam. With only two route options - 46 miles or 71, the event will prove a challenge to novice cyclists but allow more seasoned riders to try and beat their best sportive time of the season.
