Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are some of the activities taking place across Norfolk on Saturday and Sunday that will allow you to make the most of the warm weather.

Saturday 7 May

• Broads Outdoor Festival, various locations, all day, prices vary

Saturday 7 May kicks off the Broads Outdoors Festival and to celebrate lots of activities will be taking place at various locations across the Broads National Park. Events include taster sessions for kayaking, canoeing and sailing. Wymondham locals will enjoy this free event intended to showcase what goes on 'behind the scenes' in the town, focusing upon the organisations and activities that are currently on offer.

• Guided tour of St Benet's Abbey, 3pm, free entry

Make the most of the sunshine this weekend by heading out into the Norfolk countryside to explore the ruins of St Benet's Abbey. A free guided tour is available which takes roughly 45 minutes and begins at the Gatehouse.

• Puppet making with Norwich Puppet Theatre, intu Chapelfield, 10am-4pm, free entry

Our one indoor event on the list (just in case the forecasters are wrong...). This Saturday children will have the opportunity to get creative at intu Chapelfield with the Big Birdhouse Tour. The expert puppetry team from Norwich Puppet Theatre will be holding workshops throughout the day, teaching children to create rod puppet birds that they can take home.

Sunday 8 May

The Broads Outdoor Festival continues on Sunday with more brilliant events celebrating the Broads National Park. Find a full list of what's on at outdoorsfestival.co.uk• Pop up shops, Dalegate Market, 10am-4pm, free entry

At Dalegate Market on the North Norfolk Coast, the pop up shops change every week. This weekend, as well as the regular market shops, the pop up stalls will be home to RevampedUp, a upcycled furniture and home décor shop, as well as Westfield Forge, which will be selling handmade hooks, pokers, garden lamps and much more.

Following the discovery of a sinkhole, Norwich's very own secret garden was colosed to the public throughout most of April but is now once again open for all to enjoy.
