A celebration of 30 years of punk rock, headlined by The Buzzcocks, has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales.

Organiser Tim Scargill said he regretted pulling the plug, but the show would be back next year.

"We have been a victim of circumstances as a sponsor had to back out and there is a bigger event in Morcambe in May," he said.

"There are too many sweets in the shop for people to chose from and only little money to go around. We could not lose money for the charities or put on an event which would damage their reputation."
