One of the country's finest vocalists and live performers Joe Longthorne makes a welcome return to the Cromer Pavilion Theatre next month.

As well as being a fine singer in his own right, Joe also possesses a gift for impersonations.

His repertoire includes his signature impression of Dame Shirley Bassey to Tony Bennett, Sir Tom Jones, and Barry Manilow.

He was due to appear at Cromer last year, but had to reschedule his tour due to illness.

The singer has had his share of battles, including a 16-year battle with cancer, which saw him nearly die after a bone marrow transplant - then bounce back to performing in 2006.

He first came to prominence on the Search for a Star TV talent show and went on to have his own ITV series between 1988 and 1991 then build up a worldwide army of fans.

In 2010 Joe charted his career in a frank autobiography written in conjunction with Chris Berry.

The Variety Club also recognised Joe with a special award of a Silver Heart in March 2010, in honour of his extensive charity work.

After his acceptance of the award Joe immediately donated it to a Blackpool based charity of which he is patron. DCWC Nepal helps the poor and sick in Nepal and auctioned the Silver Heart raising over £1,000, which was put towards the building of a hospital being built in a remote region of the country.

In June 2012 Joe was also honoured with an MBE for his charity work.

He is performing at the Pier Pavilion on Saturday March 8 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £18.50.
