Pop pin-up Peter Andre has stunned his fans and cancelled a concert at Lowestoft's Marina Theatre - just two weeks before he was due to come to town.

The 700-plus theatre was close to selling out Andre's planned gig on Friday April 1 - but disappointed fans have been dealt a blow after his management's decision to cancel the entire 23-date nationwide Mysterious Tour.

With rumoured poor ticket sales elsewhere in the country, the tour was axed last Friday - only 10 days before his scheduled first appearance at Rhyl.

And staff at the Marina received official confirmation of the cancellation this week.

"At the Marina we do share the disappointment, particularly as the concert had proved so popular," a spokesman said.

It had been reported that the singer, who is engaged to glamour model Jordan, was looking to reschedule the complete tour until November to work on new material.

But his spokesman said: "I am very disappointed to announce that the forthcoming Peter Andre tour has been postponed to 2006. It was planned that due to recording a new album the tour would be put back to November this year, but due to a majority of venues on the tour having either a very limited, or even no, availability, we have had no choice other than to do this.

"Peter is bitterly disappointed with this news as the sellout tour he did last year was fantastic."

A full refund will be given to everyone who booked seats for the concert at the Marina.
