Classical superstar, Katherine Jenkins, has announced a trip to the woods next summer when she will be appearing in Thetford Forest, as part of The Forestry Commission's 2008 Forest Tours.

Katherine will be performing with The National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Anthony Inglis at High Lodge, near Thetford on Saturday July 12.

The concert will be supporting The Forestry Commission's valuable social and environmental programmes.

Re-defining the concept of classical crossover, Katherine has achieved global sales of over three million. Her debut album, 2004's appropriately titled Premiere, was the fastest selling of all time by a Mezzo Soprano, with well over 30,000 copies snapped up in the first week.

She is the only singer in musical history to simultaneously hold the Number 1, 2, 3 and 4 position in the classical album charts, which she achieved with Premiere, Second Nature, Living the Dream and Serenade in 2007.

Serenade also went to Number 5 in the pop charts and has sold over a half a million copies to date. Katherine's new album 'Rejoice' is released this week.

Tickets are £28.50 (subject to booking fee) and go on general sale from 9.00am this Friday from the ticket hotline on 01842 814612 or on line from www.forestry.gov.uk/music
