Thousands of visitors are expect to head for Easton College on Sunday, June 4, as Norfolk's College of the Countryside holds its highly-popular open day once again.

The college, handily placed just off the end of the A47 double carriageway, has seen this annual event (staged in association with the EDP) grow from small beginnings to become a real favourite on the local scene, with thousands of visitors sampling the best of what the college has to offer.

Staff and student demonstrations will be going on throughout the day in a variety of subjects including agriculture, countryside management, horticulture, animal care, equine, sports, public services, floristry and interior design.

And not forgetting the hugely-popular plant sale!

You can speak to current students and staff members about the different courses on offer, take advantage of the plant sale and farmers market or just enjoy all the activities laid on for all the family.

Entry is £4 per car with all proceeds going to local charity, which this year is East Anglia's Children's Hospices.

Proceedings get under way at 10.30am and the fun will last until 4pm.

The aim of the Open Day is simple - to give visitors the chance to see what is offered, both in terms of courses (full time, part time or work-based learning) and facilities, which are some of the most up-to-date in the region.

Easton is a Further Education College set in 250 hectares of idyllic farmland and countryside just outside Norwich. The main focus of the college is on vocational courses such as First and National Diplomas.

But the Open Day isn't merely about the courses on offer, it's to get people to have a great day out trying different activities and looking to see whether they could build a career for themselves, or just take a course as a hobby.

So what is going on? Listed below are the main areas of Easton together with a brief description of things you can see on the day. And don't forget there'll be a farmers' market, barbecue, vintage display, 'village green' stalls, Young Farmers and beekeeping display too.
