Twenty-six hours of best swinging jazz is promised at the Third Norwich Jazz Party, taking place at the Holiday Inn at Norwich International Airport from Saturday to Monday, May 2-4.

The event brings together 29 top jazz musicians from both sides of the Atlantic, with the format following that adopted at Jazz Parties all over the world which has proved so successful at the past two Norwich events.

Groups of musicians will be put together to perform themed sets of varying length under the nominal leadership of one player.

The musicians invited to perform this year are a selection from those who have travelled to Norwich before and have established themselves a considerable following such as, from the US, Howard Alden, Ken Peplowski, Scott Robinson, Scott Hamilton and others, plus, from closer to home, Alan Barnes, Enrico Tomasso, Karen Sharp and Dave Green, Sir John Dankworth etc.

Coupled with these returning players there are 'newcomers' including trombonist John Allred, trumpeter Warren Vach, pianist Tardo Hammer and guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli from the US and vocalist Elaine Delmar, vibes player and drummer Jim Hart, and drummer Bobby Worth from the UK.
