In the early 90s with the Lemonheads, Dando was the cover face on every cool magazine, being voted “sexiest male” in the process.
The band enjoyed a succession of hit singles including Confetti, It's a Shame About Ray and Mrs Robinson.
There was only one way down from such adulation and Dando's subsequent fall from grace into addiction was seen as a waste of a genuine talent.
When he did reappear it was in a low-key form, recording a duet with Juliana Hatfield for the 1999 album, Return of the Grievous Angel: A Tribute to Gram Parsons.

He started making public appearances again in late 2000, singing with the Blake Babies and playing some acoustic shows.
A full acoustic world tour garnered some rave reviews and renewed interest in his back catalogue.
His first proper solo album, Baby I'm Bored came out in 2003 and gained critical acclaim and a top 40 chart position in the UK.
Dando has put together a collection of new Lemonhead line-ups over the past few years and the band made an appearance at the first Latitude Festival in 2006.
The band are currently in the process of recording a new album, and have just played some UK festival dates.
