Tasmin Little, who has performed in some of the world's most prestigious venues and been made an OBE for services to music, will be performing at the John Innes Centre on February 28 in aid of youth music project Sistema in Norwich.

Ms Little will also spend the day holding workshops at Catton Grove Primary School, one of Sistema in Norwich's participant schools, and a masterclass in the afternoon.

During the evening concert, audience members will be able to enjoy hearing Ms Little play work from her award-winning Naked Violin programme on her 1757 Giovanni Battista Guadagnini violin.

The concert will also include a short performance by the children from Sistema in Norwich following on from the afternoon masterclass.

Sistema in Norwich seeks to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to realise their potential through participation in music.

Marcus Patteson, director of Sistema in Norwich, said, 'We are thrilled to have such an amazing musician working with us and supporting our work in this way. Inspirational music is at the heart of what we do and you cannot get more inspiring than a violinist of Tasmin's quality. We are so looking forward to welcoming her to Norwich.'

Tasmin Little has performed in every continent and in some of the most prestigious venues of the world, including Carnegie Hall, Musikverein, Concertgebouw, Philharmonie, Vienna Konzerthaus, South Bank Centre, Barbican Centre and Royal Albert Hall, Lincoln Center and Suntory Hall.

Ms Little's visit to Norwich has been made possible by the support of Norfolk and Norwich Chamber Music.
