Appalachian hell-raisers Hayseed Dixie will be recreating classic rock tracks with humour, brilliant musicianship and a lot of country-twang to Cambridge and Norwich to coincide with the release of their new album, Weapons Of Grass Destruction (Cooking Vinyl).
Dripping with moonshine and sweat, Hayseed Dixie meld the two most frequently and easily mocked forms of popular music - metal and country - to create the infinitely listenable and entertaining 'rockgrass'.
Their latest album, recorded and mixed over a four-day period in Nashville, Tennessee, features the band's own material, alongside their unique interpretations of songs by the likes of the Sex Pistols (Holidays In The Sun), Scissor Sisters (I Don't Feel Like Dancing), Judas Priest (Breaking The Law) and Cliff Richard (Devil Woman).
Hayseed Dixie are refreshing indeed to even the most po-faced music connoisseur.
