Moody mod, Ian Moore - a comic very much in the Jack Dee mould - heads the show as MC. Sullen and deadpan, his polished routines provide some wonderful wanderings into the world of the surreal.

There's a welcome return for the ever-aloof and snobbish Simon Evans, with his brand of intelligent, sarcastic comedy is nevertheless a joy to behold.

Following in his wake is loveable Geordie, Gavin Webster, who mixes a little ukulele playing with a bold stage presence.

Bringing up the rear is Andrew Lawrence who has been described as “spellbinding” and a “comedy freak”. His dark thoughts, gruff voice and soaring songs make him an engaging act. His pure originality saw him nominated as best newcomer at last year's Edinburgh Festival.

Doors 8pm; comedy 9pm; adults only. Tickets £12 (NUS £10.20), available from the Theatre Royal box office on 01603 630000 or from Origins ticket desk on 01603 727922.
