She began her music career organising small gigs at her local arts centre.

But the popularity of the DJ described as the hottest in the country has soared so high she has been awarded a new radio show – with an audience of eight million listeners.

DJ Goldierocks, aka Sam Hall, grew up in Hampshire and has gone on to play exclusive sets for celebrities including Madonna, Giorgio Armani, Richard Branson and Jade Jagger.

However, she revealed she can't wait to headline the inaugural Classic Ibiza, in front of an anticipated sellout 8,000 crowd, at Blickling Hall, near Aylsham, this summer.

The new Capital FM DJ, who now hosts the CapitalWeekender Ministry of Sound show, will present a night of dance anthems, with a classical twist, at the historic estate on Friday, August 12. She will be accompanied by a live 32-piece orchestra and a stunning laser show.

'It's going to be an awesome night of the best music and lasers – the more people, the better, I can't wait!' she said. 'I'm really looking forward to coming to Norfolk, it's a great place to play. My father used to work in Norfolk so we used to visit and I've also DJ'd in a couple of Norwich clubs a while back, so I'm really excited to be returning.

'It's going to be a unique and special thing to do, reworking Ibiza classics with the orchestra and it will suit so many people, like it would be good for a first date, for people who like club hits and classical music.'

Sam is no stranger to large audiences; one of her other weekly shows, The Selector, reaches 44 countries, has more than four million dedicated weekly listeners and has won several international awards. And that reach is set to be extended further with a new programme in Nepal.

As well as radio, she performs at some of the biggest festivals worldwide, including Bestival, Secret Garden Party, Latitude, and Ibiza Rocks.

However, the DJ is happiest bouncing around on stage and she's looking forward to bringing Ibiza anthems to life with a classical orchestra.

'It's a formula that works and Urban Soul Orchestra (USO) are fantastic to work with, they're extremely accomplished, fun, cool and sexy,' she said.

'We first met when we played together at a private function on a yacht in Monaco for the Grand Prix about four years ago and just got on so well and decided to do as much work together as we could and have since worked together all over the world with the likes of Tinie Tempah and Jess Glynn.

'We performed together for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee event in the Park where a lot of classical instruments were used, but this event is something special and has taken a lot of creative planning, getting the track list and the look and feel right and making sure it's current.'

Classic Ibiza is the first of two major music events being staged at Blickling on the weekend of August 12 and 13.

The Last Night of the Blickling Proms, which has become a favourite in the Norfolk county calendar and this year features a performance from classical Brit award winners Blake, will follow as the second part of a classical double-header on Saturday, August 13.
